https://www.astro-novinky.eu/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/2016-2022_Orionids_Pano_1500px-683x1024.png6831024Na státní svátek v pátek 28. října 2022 publikovala americká agentura NASA snímek dne s názvem „Sedm let Halleyova prachu“ (Seven years of Halley dust). Zachycuje maximum meteorického roje Orionidy, které se letos odehrálo 21. října za velmi příznivých podmínek. Jev na snímku ovšem nepochází jen z letošního roku: Autor Petr Horálek jej postupně zaznamenával sedm let, neboť frekvence roje není příliš vysoká a pro záznam bylo třeba fotit více let, aby bylo na snímku meteorů dostatečné množství a snímek tak ukázal na tzv. distribuci rojových meteorů. Jde již o 9 astrofotografii Fyzikálního ústavu v Opavě, kterou vybrala NASA jako Astronomický snímek dne.
